Picks of the Week: Soundboard, Priv3

Sunkast's pick: Priv3

Privacy on the net is a big concern these days with social web sites like Google+ and Facebook tracking your every move. But not everyone is willing to go as far as to block those sites just to prevent them from tracking you. Priv3 is a Firefox extension that removes the tracking cookies, while still allowing you to interact with social networking sites. No longer do you have to decide all or nothing when it comes to protecting your privacy on web sites from social networking sites. Priv3 is developed by the ICSI at Berkeley University of California. Currently the extension supports Twitter, Google+, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Andrew's pick: Soundboard

Like the cart machines from broadcast radio days, Soundboard provides a quick way to enhance your podcasts or broadcasts with sound clips, effects, or musical accompaniment. Soundboard lets you create libraries of your favorite audio clips, all instantly available by tapping hot keys on your Mac's keyboard. Drag in any Mac audio file, edit it, apply effects or filters, and tap. The interface is intuitive at a glance, and in no time hitting your favorite sound effects will be automatic. Any Soundboard you create can be exported and shared with your fellow DJs or podcasters with a click. Importing is just as easy.
