Picks of the Week: DiscFit, Microsoft Student Discount

Picks of the week

Andrew's pick: Microsoft Student Discount

Microsoft student discounts. Let's face it, college students don't always have money to plop down on the newest operating system or office software. Fortunately, there are some very nice discounts if you are a student. One of the best is being able to get a copy of Windows 7, for just $29.99. But you can get a student discount for other products such as Microsoft Office.

Sunkast's pick: DiscFit

DiscFit allows you to arrange a big set of files or folders in order to use the minimum number of physical media (CD, DVD, BD, etc.) pieces. Say for instance you have a bunch of stuff to back up, but it doesn't all fit on one disc… DiscFit will automatically arrange the files and folders for you. No more trying to figure out how many files you can burn on a disc. You can easily choose which size disc you are burning to, then drag your files and folders over. It's that simple. DiscFit will also show you which files or folders are too large to fit on a single disc.
